Soap has a falling out with Gaz and Price. It was in the interest of "they might not agree with me but it will save them", pure unrighted misconception, and the only reason Ghost stayed, even through the fights between Price and Soap and Soap and Gaz, and the dishonorable discharge, and the depression, and the good days and bad ones too. The only reason he stayed is because he was there. He was with soap. Pleading with him not to do it. Begging him not to shatter his life like that. But soap did it anyway because he's too good for his own good, and Ghost wouldn't leave him.

And so only Ghost alone is privy to the way soap lives his life through the interest of others. How he claims his new favorite breakfast is what Price always said his favorite was. How his favorite sweet is the same as Gaz's. He keeps a box of Price's favorite brand of cigars on the mantle, and Gaz's favorite liquor stays in the cabinet, untouched. He knows about the boonie hat that used to be Price's in the dark corner of the closet, and beside it is a stolen cap from Gaz.

And he sees when, years later, Price and Gaz come barreling into their lives once more, on the run and in danger. They hadn't uttered a word to Soap (and only soap) since his discharge. But still he lets them into his home. Gives his food, and clothes, and furniture, and everything he has to them.

And Ghost knows to hold his tongue when Soap wants him to. He knows Soap want him to just let them steamroll him and leave. And he does. Truely, he does. Until they start indulging. Little comments, like how soap must've gotten serious about his smoking as Price takes a cigar and a (now bloody) seat. Or how he's gotten into some bad habbits as he clatters around the liquor until he finds the unopen bottle, and grimes up another chair.

And suddenly Ghost can't stay quiet anymore. Because he watched soap give up his entire life for them. He watched him nearly kill himself for it. And how they won't speak to him, won't text or call him. How they make it clear that they've cut off Soap so entirely, and wholly the opposite for Ghost. And how soap couldn't bear to lose them, but he did anyway, just to see them alive.

The Salic Law/ Lex Salica

The Salic Law is the written law of the Frankish empire. Its origin is both in Germanic customary law and Roman criminal law. Continuing Roman law fitted in the “Imperium Romanum Aeternum" or the idea that Rome was everlasting (the early Merovingians still saw themselves as Roman and didn't consider the (Western) Roman Empire "fallen").

There are many versions and interpretations of the Salic Law, depending on the Germanic additions made to it. This is especially true for customary law, punishments and inheritance. The most famous rule included in the text is that Kings/rulers have to be succeeded by their eldest son.

In some instances, new laws and punishments were added after incidents occurred which were not previously considered. There were for example different punishments for people who were free vs. slaves. Punishments could also vary, depending on the amount of people involved. Later Catholic additions include the banishment of pagan elements such as animistic practices, future predictions or the names of our weekdays. Some of these banishments are the only documented proof of certain pagan elements which were successfully oppressed by Christianity, such as the habbit of saying "bless you" after a sneeze. This indicates that a sneeze was used for interpretations (foresight, good luck charms, etc.) that could not coexist with Catholic devotion. "Bless you" was installed to replace whatever it was Germans did after a sneeze, turning it into a "positive" that survived into our current time.

so this is her, our obachan that was somewhere around 16-17 yo at the moment of her death (no one knows how old she was for sure, and we called her a necromant bc doctors predicted her death like 10 times and she lived and lived and lived. our friend said that everytime death came for her she just stared at it with her unblinking eyes, forcing it to leave lskdjflkdsjf)

near the end of her life she had no teeth, progressing cancer, brain tumor that caused epilepsia but she still was the god's smallest gremlin, (and the most adorable too) creating havoc everywhere she went

the other cat that we adopted is this little goofball

she literally found us on the street near our home back in ulan ude and just followed us there asking food. she was our neighboors cat, but they left her behind after moving, saying some bullshit like they coudnt catch her (while she was activelly asking to be held when she came to us. she was pregnant too, and very, very anxious)

she is the most shy cat i ever met; text book wall-flower, but now after almost 5 years together she is much more brave!! tho she still scared of blankets and towels for the reasons that makes want to return back to uu and violently kill her previous family

Hidup Untuk Orang Lain

Secara nggak sadar bermain medsos secara berlebihan ngebuat kita seperti hidup untuk orang lain.

Bangun tidur buka HP, cek status, buka apps lain, ulangi lagi. Ngobrol sama orang, ikut kajian, atau waktu senggang, dikit-dikit buka hp, cek notif, atau apps lain, ulang lagi. Sebelum tidur juga sama, nggak sadar udah malem aja.

Pengalaman pribadi, untuk keluar dari lingkaran ini memang sulit. Konten medsos yang serba vertikal ini adalah distraksi paling ampuh. Akhirnya secara psikologi jadi mudah lelah, sibuk yang bukan produktif, dan perasaan cemas lainya.

Kalau di buku Remake Karya Mas Bagas Rais, perasaan seperti ini bisa membuat pola pikir cenderung iri, membanding-bandingkan dengan orang lain, dan tidak fokus pada pengembangan diri.

Lantas gimana cara ngubahnya? siapa yang bisa? ya kita sendiri, dimulai dengan kesadaran, membentuk habbit, dan istiqomah. Normatif memang, tapi ya emang gitu.

Kalau soal medsos, kita emang harus pinter dan bijak. Pinter mengatur waktu pemakaian, bijak mengelola informasi.

Soal waktu, best practicenya sekadar uninstall IG atau pakai app pembatasan aplikasi. Selain itu bisa subtitusi pemakaian medsos yang sebelumnya berbasis visual seperti IG ke medsos berbasis text dan Insightful seperti Tumblr dan Medium.

Kalau soal informasi, ini jangan sempit dimaknai berita aja, bisa tentang aktivitas orang lain via story medsos. Saya sih kalau orang terlalu oversharing, mengumbar aurat, atau yang potensi menjadi hasad/iri, cukup disenyapkan saja. Cuman yang mengingatkan soal masa lalu, unfollow saja wkwk

"Where is she?" Beomgyu asks to your classmate because he knew that your classes just ended around this time, and you and him usually walk home together. But you werent answering his messages when he texted you.

Your classmate told him that you were settling some work with the president in the meeting room, so here he is right now, waiting at the door.

'It feels weird walking home without her.' Beomgyu thought as he stared through the buildings window infront of the meeting halls door.

"Okay, so thats it? Thanks for today prez, see you!" He heard your voice echo across the room as a few students walked out the room, but he didnt care, he just wanted to see one person's face afterall.

"Oh my gosh... its Beomgyu!" One girl whispers to her friendgroup as they squeal in unison. He sighs and walks away a little.

'Beomgyu?' You were just dismissed from an meeting and the first thing you heard outside was your close friend's name. 'Oh, I forgot to tell Beomgyu I had an meeting. I probably made him wait.' You walk around and look for the person the girls described: his hair was a little long, brown, he's a tall guy. And had amazing visuals as well. (Something you would never admit)

"Y/N, there you are." Beomgyu smiles at you and waves a little. You smile back and walk to him.

"Sorry, I forgot to tell you in advance, before my phone died." You explain to him why you made him wait and you assumed he probably texted you.

"That explains it all then." He chuckles and ruffles your hair. It was a habbit of his because he was one year older, and he acted like a caretaker to you. (But it lowkey hurt you because you want something else)

"Lets go?" You look at him as the sun hit his visuals, he nods and lets go of your hair and walks out the building with you.

Beomgyu and you became neighbors in 7th grade. This sparked a friendship between you two because of you bringing some food as a welcome requested by your mother.

Walking down the street you both always walk in together, you realized how you two have grown up so much, it had been years since you have met and now you two are seniors together.

"Lost in thought? You usually would be rambling about your day." He notices you staring all over the place, which made him pout because he wanted to hear you mumble about your day.

"Oh! Thanks for reminding me." You both arrive where you two usually wait for a ride to your neighborhood, "Prez Soobin was really strict today. I feel like someone hit his nerve or something." You laugh as he laughs along with you, "I gotta ask Soobin then." He says.

"Hmm.. and Yeonjun and Taehyun usually bothered me about their coffee jelly, but I was really hungry so I bought a few, they even laughed at me and told me to eat and take care of myself. They really act old."

"Huening Kai and I became partners for an activity in maths and he and I couldn't focus because we both were laughing too hard, it was really fun and a mood booster for me."

Beomgyu listened carefully, one thing that you liked about him; he listens. He even comments and proves that he did indeed listen to the details and amuse you.

"What a nice day." He chuckled as you both got in a bus. Beomgyu always offered to acompany you, rain or shine. He was worried that something would happen to you if he wasnt there- if he was sick or out of town, he would ask your parents to pick you up instead because he would die from being worried sick.

'Why have I been thinking about Beomgyu so much today?' You notice and realize that he's been so appealing to you lately.

"Here you go again, leaving me." He chuckles as he snaps his fingers infront of your face attempting to wake you from your thoughts, which worked.

"Sorry." You mumble to him as you feel a wave of drowsiness wash you. He notices and pats his shoulder.

"C'mon, you've been doing alot today, sleep." He pats his shoulder again and you hesitate- because you think you would die from being too flustered.

"Are you sure...?" You hesitate. He dosent answer and just pull your head into his shoulder (gently) which has you dying from joy.

You hope he cant hear your heartbeat beating so loud and fast and butterflies swarming your stomach.

But your thoughts get cut off as you black out.

Beomgyu notices you fall asleep as he smiles and attempts to remain calm as he felt butterflies rushing all around his stomach.

"Young man, are you two perhaps together?" An elderly woman asks him softly as she feared of waking you up.

"Ah.. no." He chuckles, "I wish."

"I hope you two get together. Im betting on it." She chuckles softly and waves goodbye and returning on doing her own thing.

He widely smiled and looked at you and wrapped his arm around your body to prevent you from falling.

"Psst, wake up." Your sleep gets interrupted by Beomgyu, you assume. "Were here?" You mumble as you shake your head to gain your conciousness.

"Yeah." He prepares his bag and waits for the bus to stop.

"C'mon." You and him walk up to the bus door and get down to your neighborhoods stop. "See you tomorrow." He smiles and waves.

"See you, stay safe." You smile and wave back.

Anyways, it would go like this.

He would be on his way to home and he just opens his phone to send you a text or call you because he missed you so much. And then he sees a brainrot video you sent, he clicked on it and saw the video. The poor guy was so confused by it, he knew the age gap was a barrier sometimes especially when it comes to humor. But this was...just weird. He will be speechless on what to say in response so he just ignores it (ouch). But after some time, he would get used to it and eventually I think he would start to get used to the weird humor this has. Maybe, you will get a get giggle out of him someday ;)

Gerojim and Jeramie are first in my heart (probably quite obvious by my drawing habbits) but learning to draw Gerojim was a hard earned feat and so i felt the need to flex that power as much as possible!!!! I want to see more images of him!!

I’m very excited about his speech bubbles, i played around with wiggly lines too but dashes were faster to draw hahaha! a good balloon design is one of my favorite things so i’m pleased the effort was noted!!!

The Church in Castlevania

Okay, folks, I need to get this out of my system. Because this is always such a bad faith argument and... yeah, I just need to get that out there.

Now, I think most of us can agree that a lot of the game fans, who hate on the series, are just... looking for reasons to hate on it. Because in this time and age it is apparenting not just okay for people to say: "This wasn't for me" and move on. No, folks need to make up reasons why actually the thing they don't like is the worst thing ever.

In terms of Castlevania that comes with people idealizing the games (and quick reminder: I like most of the games, but... their storytelling is still very lackluster) and of course making up issues with that.

And one of the made-up hate reasons they found is how the church and religion are depicted.

They will claim: "Religion is a force of good and such an important part of the games and the Netflix series made religion a bad thing!"

And I am sorry. This is bullshit. Especially as someone who has been raised Catholic - aka the flavor of Christianity that Castlevania features.

Let me explain.

How the Games depict Catholicism

Now, I am no longer Catholic. Because of all the bullshit the Catholic church did to kids, and also their stand towards queer people. But I can tell you: If I still was Catholic, I would probably be offended at the games.

Look, this is how religious characters like priests and nuns look in the games.

And, I am sorry, this is all bad.

Now, let me start with Tera, because she is probably the least offensive in there. Because her dress per se is alright. That is what a habit of a nun would look like. Most probably St. Thomas or Ursuline. But... there is one glaring issue: She is not wearing a head scarf. And that is an important part of being a nun. Like, really. nuns are usually allowed to drop the rest of their habbit. If you live somewhere with an abby (or go to a school where nuns are the teachers like me) you might see nuns running around in normal clothing... But never without their headscarf. The hair has to be covered. It is kinda part of the point.

Next up would be Vincent. And that dress is just like... Okay, I am gonna give them some points for giving him the right hair style that would made him Capucian. But the rest of his design? What is even going on there? That is not Catholic, that is just some fantasy priest design. It absolutely makes no sense. Even less so under the entire "well, technically he should be a monk" idea. The design is bad. Really bad.

And then we have the nameless Priest of Moonlight Rhapsody. Who... looks like you crossed a Capucian monk with a freaking druid?! Like... What?!

Not to mention, of course, that while Sypha in the games is not technically a nun (though she hides as one) she hides as one and also is said to have a close tie to religion, being a woman of faith and all of that.

Now, the CV3 design is not even that offensive.

Like, sure, the blue is a bit weird, but... You know what? Hair is covered. The clothing is very conceiling. Yeah. It is not ideal from a Catholic point of view. So, that is okay.

But then we have the Castlevania Judgement design.

And... Do I really have to explain why this design is offensive on so many levels?

Like, you cannot just put a female character in this super sexy outfit, put so many fucking crosses on it and then go like: "Yay, religious character!"

Ironically the character who has the best religious design in the games is fucking Zead.

Outsie of that, let us look how religion gets depicted within the text... Well, no, let's not do that, because it isn't. Religion is not there in the text. At all. Because it is just a purely aesthetic thing that happens within the games. Charakters have religious affiliations, you will regularly find a chapelle in Dracula's castle with all the pretty stained glass and all that. But... It is not really there.

I think Alucard is a very good example of this. In Japanese artwork he gets depicted with a rosary or cruzifix from time to time. Like on the cover of Symphony of the Night.

But there is nothing religious about how he acts. There is no prayers. Nothing in terms of how he speaks. Really nothing. It is nothing but an aesthetic.

And... that is basically the whole thing going on with the games.

The thing folks miss, when it comes to the depiction of Christianity in the games, is that the games are first and foremost Japanese games made by Japanese games for a Japanese market. And in Japan only 1.5% of all people are Christian. And to Japanese people, Christianity is a very exotic. It is about as exotic as Shintoism is to European and American people. So, the Christianity within the games is very much that. It is basically the same like an American game in which some characters run around with Kitsune masks, or where you run through a shrine with nice torii in front.

Is it offensive in a horrible way? No. Or not that much, and be it just because Christians over here love to feel offended, but actually rarely are because they are the majority. It isn't that bad. But is it a good depiction? No, definitely not.

How Religion gets portrayed in the Castlevania series

So, let me talk about how the series - both the one from 2017 and now Nocturne portray Christianity and how this is related to their historical contexts. Now, let me first get one thing out of the way. The bishop and the Catholic church.

Yes, the bishop is clearly wearing the vestments of a Catholic bishop. Stylized, yes, but this is clearly Catholic vestments. And I have no heard several people claim that this is ahistoric because of Romania in general being mostly Eastern Orthodox.

But here is the big issue with that is, that... Yeah, Eastern Orthodoxy started to spread in Wallachia about a hundred years early. And it was from all we can say (look, there is little of written information that survived on the exact distribution). And I will not do it to you and myself to go deeper into the entire chasm between the Orthodox and the Catholic church.

Something that just needs to be said: The late 15th and the early 16th century in this area was a lot of religious turmoil. Which also had to do with the one historical detail that is not quite adressed in the show: Wallachia was just at the border to the Ottoman Empire, who tried to conquer Europe from there. (Again, the entire historical Vlad Tepes was so closely tied to that story. He got killed by the Ottomans in 1476.)

But that is also the aspect the show rightly brings in in one regard.

See, generally speaking one of the reasons that we got the Spanish Inquisition (which, again, was not about witches!) and the witch hunts just after the middle ages ended, so in the late 15th century was the conflict within the Church. There were suddenly several Christian religions and they were in conflict with each other and with that came a lot more push for the Churches to have power. The witch hunts were a way for them to clear up their power.

And yeah, that was a horrible thing they did. But... it is historically accurate. In fact, I would find it kinda offensive to look at the church of this time and show them as these nice people. Because that is kinda fucking with the pain and trauma of all those killed in the name of the church.

Now, Sala and his men are clearly Eastern Orthodox. While the clothing is not an exact match, the stuff they wear and also how they wear their hair and what not... That is Eastern Orthodox design.

Admittedly, the Priory is a but... bland for that. The Priory looks almost like Protestant. But than again it is a priory in a little town, so I guess it is somewhat understandable that it is not quite as fancy as Orthodox churches would be.

When it comes to the depiction of them... Well, I mean, they are not crazy because of their religion, they are crazy because somehow the night creature has brainwashed them.

That is honestly all I have to say.

And yeah, of course I should mention that we have of course Isaac there, who is a very religious character and who, in the very end, also gets depicted in a more positive light.

Now, compared to the original show Nocturne put in a TON MORE research when it comes to the depiction of the religious folks. Because while I do not consider the depiction in the original show as wrong, there is also not a ton of nuance and neither is there a lot of... details in there.

And compared to that we have now Nocturne and they just get the Knights Hospitaller so right. As well as their role within the revolution and all that. And... you know what? I am just gonna leave this blog here, where I went more into all of that.

But yeah, the entire thing is, that... in the games, Christianity is just an aesthetic. There is no substance to it. It is just to make the setting and the characters more exotic from a Japanese perspective. Meanwhile the show, which is mainly producted for a western audience, is more aware of the historical context it is set in and what role the Church took in it.

I @'d you on my blog and rebloged the callout post. I dont really care how you identify. Personally, I think it's harmless for trans men to call themselves lesbian, except that I think they are harming themselves bc there's nothing wrong with being a straight trans man, and I don't think it was good that trans men of the past had to align themselves with lesbians to have any sort of community. I do caution ppl against involving lesbianism with trans masculinity. The implications ARE transmisogynistic: if AGAB makes straight/bi trans mascs "lesbian aligned", it implies straight trans femmes can be "gay male aligned", or worse "straight male aligned" if they are lesbians.

Claiming straight trans mascs are aligned with lesbianism IS literally a TERF talking point. Equinox has a nasty habbit of stirring the pot and claiming identities that dont belong to it to gain traction. They have been accused of race faking as black, but picking on the lesbian community and the trans lesbian community is their go to for content. I see nothing good about a person obsessed with putting down lesbians on tumblr bc we wont accept it. calling us TERFs is ugly. A lot of us are nb or trans ourselves. We arent TERFs and we arent bad people for thinking lesbianism doesnt offer a place for trans men. It never did. Trans mascs equated with lesbianism in the past was literally a product of antiquated ideas of butch lesbians being "internally male". Butch lesbians aren't male and assuming butch lesbians are male bc of their presentation is misogyny.

My gf is trans and most of my friends irl are trans women and lesbian (or bi). I know a couple who are dating trans men who ID as lesbians and it's never been an issue for any of them. I see it as a person-to-person thing on what makes people comfortable or uncomfortable, and so I didn't really think of the transmisogyny aspect due to most of my experience being connected with trans women. It was actually a friend i have who is trans fem who let me know there wasnt anything wrong with me for still iding as lesbian as a trans man, back when i was kinda eh about if it was ok to do or not. But I do understand what you're talking about I think. I don't think someones a bad person if they aren't comfortable with it.

If chan or lixie or hyunjini wants to hold my hand in the exam and surgery for removal they can it would perhaps help me get out of my going under and help my anxieties with health related stuff more.
